The virtual aquarium that sails the seas

Boat International recounts the uniqueness of Benetti IJE, the 108-metre gigayacht for which we transformed into reality the dream of a shipowner who wanted a special aquarium. And that's not all... 

108-meters-IJE is the longest yacht ever built by Benetti and inside it beats a “Nextworks” heart. The highlight of our work was to transform the dream of a gigantic aquarium that would not imprison the splendid creatures that inhabit the seas into reality. We did this by conceiving, designing and building a virtual aquarium that unfolds through 5 portholes. A tropical scenario of extraordinary realism - such as to deceive even the most experienced oceanologists - now sails the seas supported by a redundant IT infrastructure capable of achieving the highest possible performance of all the systems on board. For the Benetti IJE FB275 we also engineered and produced the room controls, telephony, surveillance and cinema room. The story of this incredible Giga Yacht is now a Boat International monograph and for us it is a source of great, great satisfaction. 

Curiosity: During the development, together with the owner, we selected, rendered and created the swimming paths of each of the species present in the Virtual Aquarium. It was a bit like making a three-dimensional model of the sea...
