Nextworks team is presenting some results from its European R&D projects LIGHTNESS, MCN, CONTENT, Trilogy2, FELIX and DOLFIN at EuCNC 2014 in Bologna, 23-26 June 2014.
The LIGHTNESS project team is showing its first live demonstration of an SDN-enabled and programmable optical solution for Data Centre networks based on Optical Packet Switching and Optical Circuit Switching technologies.
New OPS switching nodes and FPGAs for mixed OPS/OCS network services directly from the servers are integrated with the OpenDaylight SDN controller to show new optical flow treatment in the optical data center.
Also, researchers from Mobile Cloud Networking project have organized a workshop about Mobile Cloud Infrastructure and Services and are presenting demonstrations of on-demand provisioning and orchestration of Virtualized Network Functions, including 3GPP EPC and LTE eNB emulations.
Other key architecural solutions on our SDN/NFV research area are presented in EUCNC (e.g. Virtual CPE, Energy management, Orchestration and federation of SDN testbeds and mixed wireless/wired control and orchestration) through a number of workshop presentations, regular papers sessions and posters.
