Official kick-off of the 5G experimentation project at Museo del Tessuto in Prato (Italy), in the presence of local authorities, the Italian government (A. Giacomelli, secretary of the Ministry for Economic Growth - MISE), the top management from OpEn Fiber and Wind Tre.
The OpEN Fiber president (F. Bassanini) and the CEO (T. Pompei), together with the Wind Tre CEO (J. Hedberg) launch the 4-years trial project on 5G technologies with a number of innovative use cases to be experimented in the territory of Prato. The new 5G City of Prato will test innovative services for eHealth, Industry 4.0, Smart Culture and Smart Mobility with large positive impacts expected on the economic and social tissue of the area.
Nextworks' know-how and expertise on SDN/NFV for 5G Networks are at the core of the 5G enabling infrastructure to be built for this experimentation.
A large audience of representatives from the Prato's municipality, the national government, the local industry and society, and media participate to the event.
