BlueSpace: Building on the Use of Spatial Multiplexing 5G Networks Infrastructures and Showcasing Advanced technologies and Networking Capabilities

Main Goal

Exploiting Spatial Division Multiplexing (SDM) in the RAN to increase bandwidth provision for massive MIMO in Ka-band.  BlueSpace aims to design the next generation optical access networks infrastructures with massive beam steering capabilities, building a reconfigurable infrastructure controlled by SDN and NFV tools and integarted with Passive Optical Networks (PONs). 

Nextworks role
Design architecture and interfaces of the SDN controller for SDM technologies and extend NFV MANO tools for provisioning of multi-tenant network slices.
