PHOSPHORUS
The Phosphorus project focuses on delivering advanced network services to Grid users and applications interconnected by heterogenous infrastructures. The project is addressing some of the key technical challenges to enable on-demand end-to-end services across multiple domains. The Phosphorus network concept and test-bed make applications aware of their complete Grid resources environment (computational and networking) and its capabilities. Phosphorus enables and tests dynamic, adaptive and optimised use of heterogenous network infrastructures interconnecting various high-end resources.
Project Vision and Mission
PA_IMS - Piattaforma di Accesso - IP Multimedia Subsystem
The objective of the PA-IMS (Access Platform - IMS) project, in collaboration with Italtel S.p.A. and Enteos S.r.l., is the development of a hw/sw platform able to join the user networks, characterized by a variety of fixed and mobile devices, with the operator core network overcoming the infrastructural division between telecommunication systems and IT components and applications.
The modular access platform to be developed during the project, independently on the physical layer of the access technology (POTS/ISDN, XDSL, Wi-Fi, ...), will be able to satisfy the new service requirements brought out by the emerging markets and, on the other hand, will optimize the management and control mechanisms for widely distributed systems.
The solution will be based on the IMS (IP Multimedia Subsystem) network model, allowing the development of multi-access services for multimedia communication over IP core networks through facilities for the delivery and control of multimedia services, including peer-to-peer IP-based services, VoIP and video-conference applications.
SESSION - Safe & Security Systems In Open Networks
Session is a Virtual Enterprise (VE) that aims to include the best skills in the fields of security and control of territory and transport in order to face the new challenges in the areas of territorial and logistic management and security.
The new requirements for the integrated and sustainable management of the territory, in terms of resources and infrastructure (waste material, energy, transport nodes, telecommunications), draw the attention to security and safety. The objective of the project is the development of a VE focused on mobility and territory management.
NEMO - Navigation, Environment and MObility
The objective of the project NEMO (Navigation, Environment and MObility) is the creation of a network of excellence in the regional environments for the systematization of the technological knowledge about the navigation and info-mobility systems. The networks will include different points of view in the field and will analyse the excellences, perspectives, the critical states and the possible solutions to be adopted in terms of research and innovation.
MISURE - Monitoraggio Integrato delle SUperfici con accesso REmoto
The objective of the project MISURE is the development of a platform able to detect and measure the surface deformations, to be applied in the monitoring of roads and railway networks. The platform includes different types of sensors and a set of modules that can be dynamically configured in mobile ad hoc networks and enables the data collection, elaboration and transmission towards remote user devices, through a variety of communication channels (GSM/UMTS, WiFi, WiMAX).
NADIA - Network per Teleservizi di Monitoraggio e Diagnostica Socio-Sanitaria
