Main Goal

Integrate the Cloud and Edge via NFV MANO through a three-tier architecture, consisting of DCs, 5Gcity Mobile Edge Computing (MEC) nodes (i.e., street cabinets), and 5Gcity Small Cells (i.e., street gateways). Build the 5G-based edge platform trials in three distinct smart cities: Barcelona (ES), Lucca (IT)  and Bristol (UK).

Nextworks role

Extend the ETSI OSM for the edge VIM and orchestrator. Extend Nextworks' Symphony suite to run over a city-wide infrastructure for an edge-based video surveillance service. Participate in the video surveillance pilot use case in Lucca (IT).
