5G technology and market offering are maturing. We will participate to the 5G Italy event in Rome (IT) on 4-6 Dec 2018 to speak about opportunities for SMEs in the new ecosystem.
5GCroCo (Fifth Generation Cross-Border Control), is a H2020 Innovation Action started on Nov 1st to execute trials of 5G connectivity for the road environment in real-life scenarios. It will be deployed in the European 5G cross-border corridor which covers kilometres of motorway connecting the cities of Metz in France, Merzig in Germany, and Luxembourg.
The Quantum Flagship project CiViQ has started activities on October 2018 to develop low cost, flexible, adaptable secure devices, services and protocols that can be easily integrated into existing telecommunication networks.
The 5G PPP Phase 3 project 5G EVE has started on July 1st 2018 to create the foundations for 5G end-to-end networks in Europe.
Innovation is a key objective of our mission. To achieve this, we are strongly involved in international R&D programs and have active and strong participation to standards. Some of the latest innovations we have produced is now part of the EC-driven Innovation Radar initiative.

The invited talk has focused on "Telco business in the 5G era: role of SMEs in the innovation process" (Telco business nell'era del 5G: il ruolo delle PMI nel ciclo dell'innovazione). Gino presented the possible roles an SME can take in the 5G ecosystem and the strategy pursued by Nextworks to be part of this new business.
