Main Goal
Design and implement SDN/NFV-based 5G Mobile Transport and Computing Platform (MTP) to simultaneously support specific needs of vertical industries (automotive, healthcare and media) via Network Slicing. In 5G-TRANSFORMER, the transport network and various computing fabrics are aggregated and federated, from the edge up to the core and cloud, to create and manage MTP slices throughout a federated virtualized infrastructure. 

Main Goal
Design and implement sharable, cost-efficient 5G transport network solution integrating the fronthaul and backhaul segments of the network to interconnect distributed 5G radio access and core network functions, hosted on in-network cloud nodes.

Nextworks role
Design and develop SDN-based control plane, including orchestration mechanisms and specialized functions for optimization of cross-domain energy consumption.
